There were 2 kids in a cabin deep in the woods. They heard a knock on the door and said who is it and no one said anything. She opened the door and it was a tall man who had something for her.

In my book The main characters are Molly and the narrator. Thier "Pa" has gone missing on a hunting trip Molly and the narrator are staying in their cabin until and man in shabby clothes knocks on their door and starts to lead them to him. The man older and doesn't speak at all, but he doesn't seem to be leading them off course. They are following him because he has the locket that their Pa wares around his neck.
